Hi, welcome to my site. I am Shan Wang, an assistant professor at Sun Yat-sen University, School of Business. My official website is here.
My research interests are in the intersection between Analytics and Operations Management in service industries. My research primarily focuses on the design and control of service systems, with capacity constraints and complex customer behaviors. Motivated by real problems in practice (especially in healthcare), my current work lies in the area of service planning and scheduling.
I obtained my PhD degree at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Antai College of Economics and Management. I am delighted to have Professor Guohua Wan as my adviser. I have had an opportunity to also work with Professor Nan Liu in Operations Management Department at Carroll School of Management, Boston College from March 2018 to May 2018, and in the Department of Health Policy and Management of Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University from August 2015 to August 2016. He has been supporting and guiding me in my academic progress.
